Survival Bag

The Survival Bag is a thermal protection aid which is designed to reduce the loss of vital body heat and therefore the risk of hypothermia

Helps Prevent Body Heat Loss

Manufactured from heavy duty polyethylene, the Survival Bag is lightweight, strong and watertight. The bag serves as a personal emergency shelter and can also be used as a distress signal.

Weather changes can be rapid, especially in Canada. Exposure to wet, extreme cold or windchill can cause body temperature to drop dramactically. Besides the basic problem of being cold, exposure will lead to shivering, difficulty with using the hands, apathy and the danger of hypothermia. Lifesystems' Survival Thermal Bag retains radiated body heat, reduces windchill and provides temporary body protection. It is also windproof and waterproof. The Survival Bag is recommended protection for emergencies in any environment subject to sudden weather change, having proved its effectiveness with mountain rescue teams for many years.

Material: Heavy Duty Polyethylene
Packed: 10 x 18 x 3 cm (3.94 x 7.09 x 1.18 Inches)
Unpacked 75 x 210 cm (27.53 x 82.68 Inches)
Weight: 290 grams (10.23 oz)
Made In: UK

Using the Survival Bag

  1. Remove from protective bag and open the Survival Bag
  2. Step inside, taking care to cover as much of the body as possible
  3. Remember: The head, neck and hands are also prone to heat loss. Insulate the body from cold ground.

Preventing Hypothermia

  • Prevent exposure: keep out of cold, wind and wet
  • Replace wet clothing with dry
  • Add insulation to clothing
  • Consume plenty of warm liquids and food
  • Use other people's body heat to help stay warm
